Auction Honoree Tie and Cancellation List

A special announcement was emailed last week about Cindy Creager, the Auction Committee’s nominee for the Honoree Tie. If you would like to make a contribution to win the tie for Cindy, please email

auction.rsvp(_AT_)euuc.org
.

The popular Auction Cancellation List is back this year! This $10 auction signup makes you eligible to attend auction events for no addition charge when space opens up due to cancellations. This item is NOT in the Catalog, but will be available the night of the auction. A special thanks to Mary Freundlich who made this possible by volunteering to manage the list.

Annual Used Book Sale

Bring your books to the church starting on Sunday April 2 - the sale starts the following Sunday

Drop off your contributions starting Sunday, April 2 (not before, as we don't have storage space). We accept great works of literature, best sellers, children's books, mysteries, romances, travel, CDs, DVDs, and audio books.  Please, do not bring college textbooks or computer tech manuals. Also, do not bring diet books, outdated medical self-help, or gardening books. We will have signs on the wall for the donation drop-off spot. Shop anytime that you are at the church.

Announcements

To the good people who bring the Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation to life.

The Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation is proud to announce that on March 26th, 2017, the Reverend Cecilia Kingman was called as our first full-time Minister for Faith & Justice, with a 98.3% positive vote, at a duly called meeting of the Members of the Congregation, per our by-laws. And we are pleased to report that Reverend Kingman accepted the call on the same day. We look forward to many good years and new adventures in partnership with this fine minister, and expect to both reap and provide countless benefits from entering into covenant with a person of her character, stature, experience, and commitment.

Let us move forward with continuing to bring our Mission to life as we Gather Together, Nurture the Spirit, and Live Our Vision of a Just and Sustainable World.

Congratulations, and many thanks to all those who have made it possible for our community to embrace this opportunity. To see how this unfolded, go to our Facebook page.

Sincerely,
Craig S. Cyr - Board President

April Mini-potlucks sign-up

Attend a potluck in the home of a UU member, where good conversation, tasty food and laughter are sure to happen. This is a good opportunity for new members to get acquainted with other UUs. Cyndy Norman will be in the Narthex to sign you up on the first two Sundays in April. Or you may contact Cyndy by email. If you wish to host an early summer potluck, contact Cyndy.

Social Justice Reading Circle for April

April's Social Justtice Reading Circle will be The Third Reconstruction: How a Moral Movement is Overcoming the Politics of Division and Fear, by The Reverend William Barber II. The book has been described as “a blueprint for movement building and an inspiring call to action from the twenty-first century’s most effective grassroots organizer.” A potluck dinner and book discussion led by Rachel Maxwell will be held on Friday, April 28. To register, visit the Social Justice Desk following the service. If book purchases are not part of your budget, please check at the Social Justice Desk regarding books on loan.

Sunday Offering for April

The Sunday Offering for April will be given to the Concern for Neighbors Food Bank in Mountlake Terrace. We have supported this food bank since its beginning in 1971. They have gone from serving 18 clients to their present number of 120 families per week. We contribute food collected as well as produce from EUUC’s garden and fruit picked by our gleaners.

Weekly Family Email

Our Minister for Faith and Justice, the Rev. Cecilia Kingman, sends out a weekly email update about the week's programs and other special announcements. If you have children under 18 and would like to receive this weekly message, send a note to Cecilia and include your children's names and ages, and your name and contact info.

Registration Open for Children and Youth

Registration is now open for Programs for Children and Youth. Please visit our website to register your child or youth, or stop by the office for paper registration. All children ages one to 18 should be registered.
