Join us for a very important regional Moral Revival Mass Meeting for the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival on November 6th at 6:00 p.m. in Seattle.  Please note the new start time: 6:00 p.m.

Carpools will depart from EUUC at 4:00 p.m. We are in need of drivers. If you are able to help drive for carpools, please let us know by emailing racialjustice.rsvp@euuc.org. If you need a ride, please also send your name to that email address.

We will also be livestreaming the event at EUUC. If you can't make it to the UW in time, come over to EUUC and watch it with us at 6:00 p.m. in Room 5.  If you can't join us in person, you can watch online at home.

The Mass Meeting will take place at Intellectual House--the Native Life & Tribal Relations Longhouse, 4249 Whitman Court, University of Washington, Seattle campus and will feature Rev. Dr. William Barber, II and Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis along with community leaders from Washington discussing the issues, history, and vision for the Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.

The call for this Campaign has emerged from more than a decade of work by grassroots community and religious leaders, organizations and movements fighting to end systemic racism, poverty, militarism, environmental destruction & related injustices. It aims to build a broad and deep national moral fusion movement – rooted in the leadership of the poor, marginalized and moral agents and reflecting the great moral teachings – to unite our country from the bottom up. We draw on the history, vision, and unfinished work of the 1967/68 Poor People’s Campaign.

As our social fabric is stretched thin by widening income inequality, politicians criminalize the poor, fan the flames of racism and xenophobia to divide the poor, and steal from the poor to give tax breaks to the rich and budget increases to a bloated military. At such a time as this, we need a Poor People’s Campaign for Moral Revival to help us become the nation we’ve not yet been.
